Post Wargames we play
Hi Miniatures players,

I just thought that it would be nice to have a list of games we play so that we can help future people who join the JIGG to find opponents and to encourage people to start a new rule sistem.

I play the following:

+ DBA (ancient warfare, few miniatures fast play)
+ DBR (renaissance era warfare, fairly fast an average number of miniatures)
+ Warhammer Ancient Battles (25-28MM stndard size miniatures roughtly 100 miniatures for an army)
+ Operation World War 2 (1/72 scale models and infantry in WW2, fairly complex, and you do not need a large number of figures, also the cost of armies is extremely cheap)
+ DBMM (I am intersted in the system I have a non painted army and I have never played)

I am interested in: Battletech and other WW2 systems

how about you guys out there?

Giovanni

Good idea Giovanni!

I used to play all kinds of GW games, mostly the, so called, Specialist Games stuff rather than the Big Two. However, with all those miniatures being in storage in Sweden what I currently endulge in is:

- spaceship battles with a realistic flavour, but still rather wet navy in nature. Greatly inspired by the . A plus with this game is that it's rather cheap to get into. :D

- A mech combat game similar to Battletech but with smaller mechs (or gears as they're called) and with more emphasis on combined arms. The inspiration for the game comes from the Japanese franchise.

And that's it at the moment. It would be fun to play some Battletech, but in my eyes Heavy Gear seems to be the superior game, both rules and miniatures wise. So I think that's the route I'm going when it comes to mechs. :)

I've also been eyeing FFG's for a long time and with the new WWII version coming out who knows what'll happen!

Hi Martin,

I love Wings of war, and I have about 6 planes for WWI so if you are intersted I would love to organize some shooting!

I also play most of the afore mentioned games.
Here in Japan however the only thing I have painted is a Vampire counts army for Warhammer Fantasy and tons of unpainted lead (as every serious wargammer should).

I am currently in the process of putting together a British and French fleet for Warhammer Historical`s "Trafalgar" (rigging takes forever and requires nerves of steel).

I am also interested in Napoleonics and the American Revolution (British Grenadier anyone?)

Hello everyone, I didn't really no where to introduce myself so I thought I might as well do it here as minature gaming is what I'm interested in.

Anyway my name is Sam and I used to play Warhammer, 40K and a whole bunch of the specialist ones, blood bowl, necromunda, mordeheim, gorkamorka, warhammer quest (my favourite) and epic40k. So mostly GW stuff, however I stopped around 6 or 7 years ago.

I curently have no minatures etc. but am interested in any of the above plus anything interesting, or with interesting models to paint.

Does anyone here play Flames of War for example, I always thought it looked pretty good, but don't know much about it?

Hallo Mr.Messy,

Welcome on board, our miniature gaming group is very diverse and we all play any kind of game. At the moment the most active gamers are about 5-6 people and teh most played games are so far a space ship game that Martin can tell you al about, I can add that the ships Martin painted where very neat!

The rest of us are playing mostly DBA with 1/72 and 15MM minitures and another game so far in 15MM called DBR. DBA is an ancient setting and you can see its description in a post in this miniature section, the other game is from the same writer and is set in renaissance period.

The good thing about DBA is that its extremely cheap since we use 1/72 models and also every army has only 12 bases of figures. DBR (my favourite) is set into a period which by not being very popular its quite misterious and interesting.

As for FOW I never played and I was told that is very close to 40K, in the past we played again with 1/72 models a set of rules called beer and pretzel but the owner of the rules has left a while ago and we stopped playing. I have a lot of based soldiers and tanks so if we find a rule set to use them I will be very happy to use them.

I hope you want to join one of our games of DBR since we are looking forward to recruit new generals. also the good thing about DBR is that considering we are playing in 15MM and most of the manufacturers are in the UK its now cheaper than ever to buy an army since the pound is weak!

Looking for to play

Giovanni

Hi! New here, been living in Tokyo for a couple years now, starting to build a WH40k Tau army and also thinking about Full Thrust.

Yellow Submarine have Full Thrust minis? Maybe I'll go check today :)
