Post Tintagel game day on February 15th
In lieu of Jay I'll jump in and make a proper sticky post.

This Sunday (the 15th) there will be a game day at Castle Tintagel in Mejiro. I don't know from what time exactly, but earlier it's been from 10 o'clock or so. The regular fee is 500 yen and there's room for about two or three simultaneous games (depending on size). There's all kinds of snacks, light food and drinks available. I recommend the muffins! :)

You can read more about Castle Tintagel (and how to get there) .

I'll be there and I'll bring Android and maybe Red Planet again as it seemed to be some of you who wanted to try that out.

I will not be able to make, but I am very intrigued by the place.

I understand is a fencing school and medieval cultural centre, is it also a language school?

Can I have more information about the place? I think that hasa nice atmosphere that would fit perfectly fantasy and medieval wargaming.

I am looking forward to go and try to introduce all of the people to DBR that still contains a lot of armies with knights and renaissance gendarms (heavy knights).

Ciao

Giovanni

Yay! Android! I wanna try that.

I'm coming with Red Alert, the newest offering from the genius responsible for Through the Ages and the hilarity known as Galaxy Trucker. One game is 10 mins, scoring ("Mission Replay") another 10-15, so one can do more than two in an hour. Which is just as well, because two are just not enough :)

See you there!

Three of us are going to be playing Battletech. Anyone else is welcome to join.
Hopefully we have enough tables there for this.

Hi all,

Thanks for the fun game of Red Alert on Sunday. It was stressful to make sure that all of our choices would work out at the right time, but it makes the game fun too. I hope we can play it again.

We had a few more people this time at the Game Day. About 12 to 14 in all.

Three of us got in a Battletech game which was a lot of fun. Light mechs running around big mechs turned out to be the theme.

Then John and I had a quick sci-fi skirmish shootout.

I also played Carcassone and Blockus a few times.

Space Alert made it to the table, along with two simultanious games of Settlers, Puerto Rico, and a couple others I didn't catch the name.

Glad to see some old faces be new faces at this game day. The location did fine holding all of us, and if there wasn't a large miniature game we could have had about 5 board games running at the same time.

Matt

Thanks to everyone who taught me how to play Race for the Galaxy.

Also, more thanks to Matt for bringing that huge bag full of war gaming scenery.

Cheers,
John

Yes, I had a good time as well. I got to play (half) a game of Android, where I lost miserably, and five or six rounds of Space Alert which was great fun! I also felt waves of nostalgia wash over me as I watched the on-going Battletech game. Hehe! :)

I'll be typing out a post about my initial thoughts on Android later on.

Looking forward to the next game day!

I'm curious about Android. From what I overheard, it sounded like a cross between and RPG and a board game.

I'm looking forward to your write up.

Cheers,
John

Funny, we have had many people stop and watch our Battletech games in the last year, some people were even spouting off mech details and weapon statistics. But only three people in our group ever had any desire to play. I find it odd. Those 80's games just haven't aged well.
