Post Saitama Game Day, April 25th
Due to popular interest (well, actually my own selfish desire to game close to
home) I have once again booked a room for a game day up here in Saitama.

Date: April 25th (saturday)
Time: 10am to 5pm
Location: Miyashiro Shinshukan (進修館), kenshu****su(研修室)
Cost: whatever you feel like donating (the room cost is only 2400 yen but a
couple of hundred yen donation will be appreciated)

map:

From Shinjuku: Shonan-Shinjuku to Kuki (49min), then Tobu line to
Tobudobutsukoen (7min)

From Kitasenju: Tobu Isesaki or Tobu Nikko line, take any express (急行)and get
off at Tobudobutsukoen (33min)

From Asakusa: You can either take the Tobu line section express(区間急行)all
the way to Tobudobutsukoen (55min) or you can change to the 急行) at Hikifune
(45min)

If you are in easy reach of the Hanzomon line, you can take any of the express
trains headed for kuki or minami-kurihashi all the way to Tobudobutsukoen - you
do NOT need to change at Oshiage - you know who you are ;)

Hopefully Scott will be able to make it, in which case I assume he's still
planning on offering a demo game of Maids. He estimates 1-2 hours play time.

I'm thinking about offering the "pilot" of a 24-esque modern action-horror game
I've been thinking about, based on d20 Modern. I think it should take about 2
hours play time, maybe less. Ideally, I'd like the session to last about 1.5
hours, but I doubt it'll work that way.

Anything you want to play, bring it - you're sure to find someone interested in
playing it with you. Whether there'll be time between all the other things
people want to try is another matter, but that's the fun part isn't it?

By the way: different room this time - geometrically simple tables! Same massage chairs though...

Regarding the "smaller room" in the poll, does "longer lasting" imply "past five"? Or have we been thoroughly cosplayed off again? If the latter, I really don't care whether long games are in the same room or not; if the former, yay for the smaller room! :)

Lol, yeah...

Huh, I gotta try either one or both - if only to experience RP in under 6 hours per a quarter of the story for once in my life...

Nooo, not so fun! Decisions, decisions... :)
But I'll bring some. ;)

No, I'm afraid it's just til 5 again this time - though it would probably be easier to get a small room for longer I suppose. The only trouble with *only* booking a smaller room is that you know what would happen - suddenly every Tokyo gamer would decide "hey, I wonder what Miyashiro's like!" and we'd have 40 people standing around in the hallway waiting their turn to play the one game we have space for.

One day I'll get more organized and try to book a room a couple of months in advance - then I'll book it for all day! Though some of us do have real lives, of course.

It's challenging, and requires both lots of referee preparation and lots of player cooperation. I want to try a slightly new idea (for me anyway) in game plotting that I hope will keep the tension level high and drive everyone to get things done ASAP.

cool - closer to the day I'll ask people to give us some idea of what they're bringing.

I can bring the following boardgames:
    Commands and Colors: Ancients
    Carcassone (with too many expansions)
    Settlers of Cataan
    Illuminati
Fluxx (bought for English club and gathering dust in my desk)
Ancient Battles Delux (hex and counter wargame I got in the mail recently.)

I could also bring some Battletech stuff, but we'd have to play on the paper hexmaps that come in the basic box.
