Post Playing Legacy in Tokio / Kawasaki?
Hi together,

After a long time of searching a magic community in Japan,I'm really happy that I've found this forum ... :)

I'm here in Kawasaki since Tuesday last week (25.05.) and now I'm looking for some possibilities to play Legacy in Kawasaki / Tokio.

Regards
Tom

Youkoso!
I don't play Legacy tournaments, unless you mean "casual magic with both old and new cards". However, there is a tourney organization that I think is based in Yokohama called the Planes Walkers Cup (PWC). Check out www3.to/pwc

Also Shindo-san, who posted on here very recently has either Vintage or Legacy tournaments (sorry, i forget which  )every month, so check that out.

Plus there's a bunch of hobby stores such as Yellow Submarine and Amenity Dream where you can play in tourneys, meet new people and practise your Japanese, and we have a regular gathering on Wednesday nights from 7pm at Shakey's Pizza in Takadanobaba (on the Yamanote Line, two stops north of Shinjuku).

Good luck and hope to see you around,
D

At Shakey's we generally have a few legacy decks available.

Yumeya has a weekly Legacy tournament as well. On mondays I think.

A giant Legacy tournament will happen in september.

Hi together,

so I will at first try to visit the Shakey's Pizza. But I'm not sure, if I find directly to it from the Takadanobaba station. If possible (also from time after work) we will see us on Wednesday.

Regarding my Japanese ... ähmm .. there is almost no Japanese ... ;)

So I hope, that in the Magic universe there is a possibility to at least use the game key words in English.

Tom

You'll probably want to play with Brent at Shakeys he has at least 4 (proxied) legacy decks that he plays.

I'm heading over to Manila for the grand prix but I'll be back at Shakey's in 3 weeks, willing to play as well.

Japanese isn't a problem, unless you draft, and even then if you know the cards by art it's never a problem. Also, magic language is fairly universal, especially amongst the legacy scene. You're most likely to run into trouble at FNM where some people are new and know only the Japanese words for stuff like Sacrafice or haste or first strike. The difference between exiled and destroyed can be tricky to explain if the cards aren't known too I guess.

Japan's the best place to play magic, so you'll be fine.

It's actually a Sunkus not a 7/11 but it's a good map otherwise. :P
