I don't know what the old magazine look was, but I'm a big fan of the new one. It comes across as very professional.
Might I suggest a permanent forum link at the top of the magazine page? My only lament is that that I had to search the JIGG Magazine for "forum" and then click a link in an article to get this this forum.

I agree a link would be nice, but perhaps not only to my JIGG site, which is unofficial, but to some of the other game related blogs in Japan, like Giovanni`s West Tokyo Gamers etc
